Welcome to Studio Ichigo, home of Ichigo Bloom & Ichigo Bridge!

Cultivating sustainability in Japan through creativity, collaboration, and science-based insights.

Studio Ichigo is a small, independent agency based in Tokyo, working across Japan to inspire and accelerate sustainable transformation. Rooted in the belief that local action benefits from global perspective, we bring together European and Japanese approaches to sustainability through two complementary services:

  • Ichigo Bloom: Our collective of workshop facilitators delivers powerful, science-based education sessions like Climate Fresk and Biodiversity Collage. We help companies and communities connect the dots, build consensus, and take action.
  • Ichigo Bridge: Our consulting arm connects Japanese and European perspectives on sustainability. We provide tailored advice and insights, drawing on public policy expertise, private-sector experience, and a trusted network of collaborators.

Beyond our core services, we also organize nonprofit initiatives that bring people together around climate and social issues, like Too Hot to Be Cool, a rock concert series supporting environmental action through music, and AlterCOP Japan, local hands-on education events aligned with the UN’s global climate conference.

We’re driven by purpose, not profit. Agile, multilingual, and energized by good vibes.

  • Ichigo means strawberry in Japanese. Strawberries are colorful, healthy, and refreshing, like our services.
  • Ichigo also means one chance encounter, a reminder of how valuable human interaction is, especially for sustainability.
  • Ichi, go – taken separately – means one and five. A nod to the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement, our global climate compass.

Who’s behind it?

Hello! I’m Stéfan, the founder and general manager of Studio Ichigo. Originally from France, I’ve been working in Japan since 2016 in sustainability-focused roles at the French Embassy, the EU-Japan Centre, and in private consulting and education. I currently chair the Sustainability Committee of the European Business Council in Japan, and I collaborate with both public and private partners.

For Ichigo Bloom, I work we a collective of facilitators and educators with diverse backgrounds. For Ichigo Bridge, I combine my own expertise with contributions from trusted external partners – consultants and specialists across Japan and Europe.
