Bridging industries, building understanding: Climate Fresk workshop with international chambers of commerce in Japan

Last month, Ichigo Bloom had the privilege of facilitating a dynamic Climate Fresk workshop in Tokyo, bringing together members from the American Chamber of Commerce in Japan (ACCJ), the British Chamber of Commerce in Japan (BCCJ), and the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Japan (AHK Japan). This marked a significant milestone for us, being our first collaboration with multiple international chambers of commerce in Japan, following our successful session with the European Business Council last year.

We were thrilled to welcome around 20 participants from a diverse range of industries, including legal, consulting, design, finance, and energy. This diverse representation created a rich and engaging learning environment, fostering unique perspectives and discussions.

Unraveling climate science with the Climate Fresk

For those unfamiliar, the Climate Fresk is an interactive and collaborative workshop that uses a card-based game to illustrate the causal links between various aspects of climate change. Participants work together to arrange the cards in a logical sequence, building a comprehensive understanding of the complex science behind global warming. This hands-on approach makes climate science accessible and engaging, regardless of prior knowledge.

During the workshop, participants delved into the intricacies of the climate system, explored the impacts of human activities, and brainstormed potential solutions. The collaborative nature of the Climate Fresk fostered a sense of shared responsibility and inspired participants to think critically about their roles in addressing the climate crisis.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the ACCJ for generously hosting the workshop and to the BCCJ and AHK Japan for their invaluable support in promoting this event.

Business associations in Japan: let’s connect!

We believe that businesses play a crucial role in driving climate action. By fostering climate literacy and promoting sustainable practices, business associations – both international and domestic – can empower their members to become agents of change.

We are eager to collaborate with other business associations and networks in Japan to organize workshops for their members. Whether you’re interested in the Climate Fresk, the Biodiversity Collage, the 2tonnes workshop, or any of our other sustainability-focused programs, we’re happy to discuss how we can tailor a session to meet your specific needs.

If you’re interested in learning more about our workshops or exploring potential collaborations, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
