Ichigo Bloom facilitated a Climate Fresk workshop for Japan’s space agency JAXA. The session was organized to support climate change discussions within CONSEO, a consortium led by JAXA to foster exchanges on satellite observation of Earth.
In August 2024, the Ichigo Bloom collective had the honor of facilitating the very first Climate Fresk workshop for JAXA, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency.
The session, held in Tokyo, gathered participants from JAXA and from companies members of CONSEO. The CONSEO consortium was established by JAXA in 2022, to encourage and develop new strategies for Japan’s Earth observation satellites. The consortium gathers private companies, academic organizations and public authorities.
Ichigo facilitators Minami Shinohara and Noriko Yanagi got the chance to guide nearly 20 science-savvy participants throughout the 3 hours of the Climate Fresk, reconstructing the chain of events from causes and consequences of climate change.
Discussions among participants helped highlight the connections between observation of Earth from space, and our collective understanding of the global climate crisis.
Ichigo Bloom is truly grateful to JAXA’s team for having invited us to contribute to climate discussions within the CONSEO consortium.
Ichigo Bloom offers climate and biodiversity collaborative workshops such as the Climate Fresk and the Biodiversity Collage, to raise awareness and ignite change within organizations in Japan.
