For the first time ever in Japan, the Planetary Boundaries Fresco workshop was opened to the public! Organized by Ichigo Bloom with the support of 1er Degré, the amazing French non-profit behind this unique experience, the session brought excitement, learning, and action together under one roof.
Ichigo Bloom member Mahi Patki facilitated the session on October 19, 2024, at Impact Hub Tokyo in Meguro. The event brought together a dozen of enthusiastic participants to explore the complex links between the causes and consequences of the deterioration of planetary boundaries.
What is the Planetary Boundaries Fresco?
Developed by the French non-profit 1er Degré, the Planetary Boundaries Fresco workshop aims to raise awareness and foster understanding of the planet’s limitations by focusing on nine critical planetary boundaries. Climate change and freshwater use are just two of these boundaries.
In just three hours of interactive learning, participants gain insight into the complexities of our planet, exploring the causes and consequences of planetary boundary degradation. Using a set of simplified yet science-based cards, the workshop makes it easy to grasp the risk levels of specific boundaries and highlights the urgent ecological challenges we face today.
