The Planetary Boundaries Fresco is an engaging, collaborative workshop that helps participants explore the nine critical Earth system processes that regulate the stability and resilience of our planet. Through interactive activities, you’ll gain a systemic understanding of how human activities are impacting these boundaries and what actions can be taken to stay within them.
The Planetary Boundaries Fresco, created by the French collective 1er degré and based on the latest research from the Stockholm Resilience Centre, takes your team on a guided journey through the vital systems that sustain life on Earth — from climate and biodiversity to freshwater use, land use, and more.
Through a card-based, co-creative activity, participants work together to map out these interconnected systems, understand the pressures we’re placing on them, and explore what it means to live within planetary boundaries. Guided by trained facilitators, the workshop encourages emotional reflection, systems thinking, and meaningful conversations about the future we want to build.
By the end, participants will have a clearer vision of how global ecological thresholds affect their lives, organizations, and decisions — and how to act accordingly.
