Biodiversity Collage
Explore the web of life and why it matters. A collaborative workshop based on international biodiversity science, for anyone curious about the living world.

What is the Biodiversity Collage?
The Biodiversity Collage takes participants on a journey through the living world, from the soil beneath our feet to the oceans that cover most of our planet. Using illustrated cards based on the findings of the IPBES, the world’s leading authority on biodiversity science, participants work together to uncover the drivers and consequences of biodiversity loss. They leave with a new sense of wonder for the natural world, and a clearer picture of what threatens it – and what to do to protect it.

Biodiversity education for all Parisians
Paris, France
As part of its Biodiversity Plan, the City of Paris partnered with the Biodiversity Collage association to bring workshops to all 20 arrondissements – in town halls, community centers, and neighborhood venues, for all publics, day and evening. The goal: help Parisians understand what biodiversity means in an urban environment, and how the city’s 84 biodiversity projects connect to their daily lives. A powerful example of a local government using science-based education to bring residents closer to public policy.
B Corp Earth Day on Iki island
Iki, Nagasaki
Colere, a B Corp-certified HR consultancy based on Iki island, off the coast of Nagasaki, has made sustainability education part of how they bring their community together. At their 2023 Earth Day gathering, Colere invited staff, clients, local residents and fellow B Corp community members to experience the Biodiversity Collage together. The session planted seeds beyond the event itself: Iki City later organized a Climate Fresk for local SMEs as part of their local SDGs certification program. Read the full story →

The Biodiversity Collage was so engaging that the three hours flew by. Although the topic is complex, the creative way it’s presented made it easy to appreciate the wonder of biodiversity. By the end, participants felt grateful for the rich ecosystems around us.
