Climate Fresk
Understand the climate system, together. A collaborative workshop based on international climate science, for anyone, regardless of prior knowledge.

What is the Climate Fresk?
The Climate Fresk is a collaborative workshop based on the findings of the IPCC, the world’s leading climate science body. Using a set of illustrated cards, participants work together to map the causes and consequences of climate change, piece by piece. They leave with a clearer understanding of the crisis and a stronger sense of the actions they can take, as individuals and as a group.

How a session unfolds
Climate change can feel overwhelming from the outside. Inside a Climate Fresk session, the pieces start to fall into place.
Comprehension
In teams, participants use 42 illustrated cards based on IPCC science to piece together the causes and consequences of climate change.
Creativity
Participants add colors, sketches and personal touches to make their fresco their own, then give it a title.
Emotions
Participants share what they feel in front of climate change – anxiety, anger, hope… The group format turns a lonely worry into shared hopes.
Discussion & Actions
The session ends with a collective brainstorm: what can we do to tackle climate change? Participants leave with ideas built together.
A few stories
Dior, climate empowerment from Paris to Tokyo
Worldwide
Parfums Christian Dior set an ambitious goal: train every single one of its employees in the science of climate change, from Beauty Consultants in boutiques to workers in its production facilities. By 2023, more than 3,000 employees in France alone had taken part in a Climate Fresk workshop, representing nearly 90% of the French workforce. The rollout extended to all 15,000 Dior employees worldwide, including in Tokyo where our facilitators have led sessions for the local teams in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Building a shared foundation for a climate NPO
Tokyo, Japan
In July 2025, the Japanese chapter of the Climate Reality Project, the global climate initiative founded by Al Gore, brought together 20 volunteers and staff from across the country for a full-day meetup in Tokyo. As part of the gathering, participants took part in a Climate Fresk session to build a shared foundation of climate science knowledge. The group discovered that understanding the same system together changes the quality of every conversation that follows. Read the full story →
Climate science at an international high school
Yokohama, Japan
In January 2026, students at Deutsche Schule Tokyo Yokohama explored the climate system through a Climate Fresk session integrated into their geography curriculum. With around 40 participants, the workshop gave students a chance to consolidate what they had already learned in class, dive deeper into the connections between causes and consequences, and start imagining changes they could make, at school and in their everyday lives.

When I first took part in a Climate Fresk, I loved how all participants, regardless of their level of knowledge, could ask questions openly, without embarrassment. That’s not how learning usually works in Japan. The collaborative format, where everyone has a role to play, makes all the difference.
— Kaori, Climate Fresk facilitator

We ran a Climate Fresk for nearly 30 participants in our university. The content worked for all: students with limited knowledge of environmental issues, graduate researchers, teachers… Everyone showed considerable enthusiasm. I had a very good time myself and highly recommend this workshop!
