Studio Ichigo
Studio Ichigo is the Tokyo-based company behind Ichigo Bloom. Small, independent, and built around a simple idea: that sustainability education and advisory work are most effective when they combine scientific rigour with human warmth.

What we do
Studio Ichigo operates two complementary service lines, both working toward the same goal: helping organizations and communities in Japan engage meaningfully with sustainability.

Our collective of facilitators and educators delivers science-based sustainability workshops across Japan, on climate, biodiversity, gender equality and more. Collaborative, human-led, and available in Japanese, English and French.

Our consulting arm connects Japanese and European perspectives on sustainability, drawing on public policy expertise, private-sector experience, and a trusted network of partners across both regions.
Beyond our core services
We regularly run free and open workshop sessions for the general public, at venues like Impact HUB Tokyo and Tokyo Innovation Base, because we believe sustainability education should be accessible to everyone, not just organizations with a budget.
We also support nonprofit initiatives that bring people together around climate and social issues. Too Hot to Be Cool is our rock concert series raising awareness and funds for environmental action through music. AlterCOP Japan organizes local, hands-on education events aligned with the UN’s annual climate conference.

Licensed workshops, certified facilitators
All workshops in the Ichigo Bloom catalogue are developed by European non-profit organizations and delivered under official licence. Every Ichigo Bloom facilitator is individually certified by the relevant developer (Climate Fresk Association, Biodiversity Collage Association, 1er Degré and others) before running sessions independently. This ensures every session meets the quality standards set by the original creators, wherever in the world it takes place.
Why this name?
いちご
Ichigo (いちご) means strawberry in Japanese – colorful, fresh, and a little sweet.
一期一会
Ichigo Ichie (一期一会) means one chance encounter, a reminder of how valuable human connection is.
一・五
Ichi (一) and go (五), taken separately, means one and five: a quiet nod to the 1.5°C target of the Paris Agreement.
Who’s behind it?
I’m Stéfan, the founder and general manager of Studio Ichigo. Originally from France, I’ve been based in Japan since 2016, working in sustainability-focused roles at the French Embassy, the EU-Japan Centre, and in private consulting and education. I currently chair the Sustainability Committee of the European Business Council in Japan, and run Too Hot to Be Cool, a nonprofit rock concert series for climate action.
For Ichigo Bloom, I work with a collective of facilitators and educators with diverse backgrounds across Europe and Asia. For Ichigo Bridge, I combine my own expertise with contributions from trusted partners across Japan and Europe.
