Another first! Ichigo Bloom’s member Minami facilitated last month the first Climate Fresk workshop for children ever organized in Japan. This session, all in Japanese, was offered pro-bono to children aged 7-11 from the French-Japanese community.
The Climate Fresk Junior Version keeps the ingredients of the workshop for adults – science-based, collaborative, fun, using cards – and makes it more accessible to younger participants. The number of cards is reduced, the concepts are simplified and more directly related to daily life, and the length of the workshop is reduced.
Here’s what our young participants thought of the workshop.
“I really enjoyed the drawing part at the end.”
LMA, 11 years old
“I learnt what global warming is, and the problem it causes to nature and even our food.”
YGN, 9 years old
“At first it was a bit hard, but then I enjoyed it a lot with my friends!”
LMH, 8 years old
“I really liked talking with other participants and the animator. I wish it was longer!”
JR, 8 years old
Now, let’s do more!
In our mission to spread sustainability awareness workshops in Japan, we’re looking forward to working more often with Japanese schools, non-profit organizations supporting children and local communities. We can also introduce our kids workshops into corporate events for employee families.
Contact us if you’d like to talk about bringing the Climate Fresk Junior to your community in Japan – we can run the workshop both in Japanese and English. Another of our popular workshops, the Biodiversity Collage, is also available for kids.
Ichigo Bloom offers climate and biodiversity collaborative workshops such as the Climate Fresk and the Biodiversity Collage, to raise awareness and ignite change within organizations in Japan.
