Our new Learn&Do series combines one of our science-based workshops with a hands-on activity led by a local partner. The first two formats focus on urban nature and sustainable food.
Why pair a workshop with an activity
Our workshops help groups build a shared understanding of a complex topic, using cards and discussion. What they don’t do is show that topic in a real place. Learn&Do adds that step: after the workshop, participants spend time on a concrete, local activity that makes the ideas they just worked through easier to see and remember.
We tested the idea in June 2026 with Parfums Christian Dior Japon, pairing the Biodiversity Collage with activities on a rooftop farm in Setagaya. You can read the full story here. The result was good enough that we’re now offering the format to other organizations, along with a second one.
Learn&Do: Urban Nature

The Biodiversity Collage workshop, followed by hands-on activities at the rooftop farm of our partner Art Farm Ikejiri in Setagaya, Tokyo. A typical program includes harvesting vegetables and herbs, making fresh herbal tea, an introduction to composting, and a guided visit to the farm’s apiary. The program can be adapted to your group.
Learn&Do: Sustainable Food

The Planetary Boundaries Fresco workshop, followed by a food tasting and talk with our partner Farm Canning. Farm Canning is a caterer based in Zushi, Kanagawa, built around rescuing surplus and “imperfect” vegetables, supporting farmers, and minimizing waste. Participants taste a seasonal vegetarian menu while a short talk connects the food on the table to the food system challenges explored in the workshop. The Climate Fresk and Biodiversity Collage can also be used as the starting workshop.
Practical details
Both formats work for groups of 20 to 40 participants and can run in Japanese or English. Urban Nature is a half-day to full-day program at Art Farm Ikejiri. Sustainable Food takes 4 to 5 hours and can be held at your office or at a venue of your choice in Kanagawa and Tokyo. Pricing depends on the format and group size.
If you’d like to organize a session for your team, get in touch and we’ll design the right program for your group.
