New workshop: Ichigo Bloom adds the Ecosystems Domino to its menu

We are pleased to announce that the Ecosystems Domino is now part of our workshop offer in Japan, available in English and Japanese.

What is the Ecosystems Domino?

Launched in 2026, the Ecosystems Domino is a short, science-based workshop on biodiversity loss, and a fast-track companion to our Biodiversity Collage. Both are developed by the same team. Where the Biodiversity Collage offers a comprehensive three-hour exploration of the biodiversity crisis, the Ecosystems Domino fits into 30 to 90 minutes, making it suitable for contexts where time is limited but the topic deserves more than a passing mention.

Each session focuses on one or two ecosystems from a list of more than ten, from a Mediterranean seagrass meadow to a Congo rainforest, and takes participants through the chain reaction connecting human activity to biodiversity loss. Groups rebuild a balanced ecosystem, uncover the pressures threatening it, and close with a collective discussion on what responses exist at every level, from individual choices to policy.

A natural fit for our Learn&Do formats

The Ecosystems Domino slots naturally into both of our Learn&Do: Urban Nature and Learn&Do: Sustainable Food formats, where it can replace the Biodiversity Collage or the Planetary Boundaries Fresco as the workshop component. Its shorter duration actually opens up more time for the hands-on activity that follows, whether that is an urban farm visit, a nature walk, or a farm-to-table tasting session.

First open session: 24 November in Tokyo

The first public session of the Ecosystems Domino in Japan will take place on 24 November 2026 in Tokyo, as part of an event co-organized with the German Chamber of Commerce in Japan, Yachiyo Engineering, and the European Business Council. More details to follow, keep an eye on our social media for the announcement!
