Planting seeds of climate literacy: Vilmorin-Mikado × Ichigo Bloom

This spring and summer, we had the pleasure of supporting Vilmorin-Mikado’s Japanese headquarters in launching their internal rollout of the Climate Fresk, part of a broader global initiative led by their French headquarters in partnership with the Climate Fresk Association.

Vilmorin-Mikado, an international seed grower

A French-Japanese company present in 12 countries, Vilmorin-Mikado is a world-renowned player in the vegetable seed industry, dedicated to developing innovative, high-quality varieties for growers worldwide.

The company is also deeply committed to sustainability, aiming to contribute to a healthy food system while protecting natural resources. As part of this commitment, they are now introducing the Climate Fresk across their global teams to raise awareness and spark collective climate action.

The Climate Fresk at Vilmorin-Mikado in Japan

For the Japan rollout, Ichigo Bloom was chosen as the local delivery partner. We facilitated:

  • A Climate Fresk workshop for 14 employees at the Toke office (Chiba prefecture) in April 2025
  • Followed by a professional facilitator training program for 7 of those participants in July.

The goal: empowering a team of internal facilitators who can now continue deploying the workshop across all staff in Japan.

Both sessions were led by Minami Shinohara, a member of Ichigo Bloom and a certified Green Belt Climate Fresk facilitator. The workshop included customized content developed by Vilmorin-Mikado’s global Corporate Social Responsability team and adapted for the Japanese context in collaboration with our team.

This project reflects one of the ways we support companies ready to bring climate education to their employees at scale. Whether through large single sessions mobilizing multiple facilitators, phased programs over several days or weeks, or by training internal staff to become facilitators themselves, we’re happy to help design the right approach.

Ichigo Bloom offers climate and biodiversity collaborative workshops such as the Climate Fresk and the Biodiversity Collage, to raise awareness and ignite change within organizations in Japan.
