In July 2026, Ichigo Bloom partnered with Immerse Education, a UK-based organization that runs intensive career and academic enrichment programmes for students aged 13 to 18 across Tokyo, Oxford, Cambridge, New York, Singapore, and several other cities. The Tokyo edition is part of their Career Insights programme, a two-week immersive experience combining site visits, meetings with professionals, and hands-on learning sessions. Our workshops were part of that programme.
Two tracks, three workshops
The Immerse Education Tokyo programme runs several parallel tracks. We worked with the Business Management and the Engineering tracks. Around 20 students aged 15 to 18, from a dozen nationalities, took part across two days of workshops.
Business Management students experienced the Digital Collage and the Gender Equity Collage, two workshops that connect naturally with the themes of corporate strategy, consumer behaviour, and organizational culture that their track explores.
Engineering students had the Digital Collage and an Ichigo Spark talk about solar supply chains in Japan, from panel manufacturing and rare earth sourcing to the structural questions Japan faces as it tries to accelerate its energy transition while remaining heavily dependent on imported components.
When students see something you didn’t
During one of the Digital Collage sessions, something unexpected happened: “The group arranged the cards on the table in a way we hadn’t seen before, a completely different structure from the one described in the facilitator’s guide. My first instinct was to redirect them. But I held back, looked at what they had built, and realized their approach made complete sense”, comments Ichigo Bloom coordinator Stéfan, who led this session.
In all the sessions we have run, including with experienced professionals, we had never seen this. This was a reminder for us of what we actually need from young people in our world, threatened by climate change and biodiversity collapse: not just concern, but the willingness to change the rules of the game.
Working with schools and student programmes
This collaboration between Ichigo Bloom and Immerse Education is a good example of how our workshops like Climate Fresk, Digital Collage and others can fit into broader educational programmes, not simply as a standalone event, but as one component of a broader experience that connects classroom learning, real-world exposure, and personal reflection.
